Yoga Essentials and Amrit Yoga Instructor
Amy has been practicing yoga for more than 20 years, and is a certified teacher of Amrit yoga, "meditation in motion." She also is certified in Thai Yoga Bodywork, and in the gentle, healing touch of Reiki.
Amy feels privileged to have studied under world renowned master, Yogi Amrit Desai. She completed 500 hours by Yoga Alliance Standards in Asana, Meditation, Anatomy and Breathwork.
Amy, the former director of Sunsalutations Yoga Studio in Lincoln, has loved introducing Amrit yoga to people of various body types and all ages. She also works privately with those journeying through anxiety and depression. Her students enjoy her calming voice and joyful spirit as they engage in Hatha (postures and breath) and Raja (meditation).
Amy is certified in Thai Yoga Bodywork, a 75-minute experience of acupressure, reflexology and assisted stretching for the release of tension. It is practiced on the floor, fully clothed, in a relaxing environment. Gentle breathing techniques are used to deepen the experience. Amy is also certified in Reiki, a gentle energetic healing touch.
Amy began practicing yoga as a teenager with Sivananda Vedanta. She has lived in Vedanta Ashrams in London, Paris and Quebec.
