Multi-Lingual Program Director
Angela became introduced to meditation through Chinese medicine and a colleague, Dr.Wiggin. Dr. Wiggin used to treat Angela with acupressure treatment on their lunch break, and then one day, before she started the treatment, Dr. Wiggin asked Angela if she wanted to meditate with her. The answer: yes. But Angela didn’t know if she could do it, if she could be still for a long period of time. Dr. Wiggin, though, insisted, and said in her broken English “I teach you...” From that day on, meditation became routine for Angela.
Angela practices both yoga and meditation and appreciates that the two work well together to treat both physical ailments (such as back pain, joint pain, illness)and to feed the soul.
“In a practice we can wonder,” Angela writes, “what do I want to hand down to the next generation, or to my children, or how do I want to spend the rest of my days on this Earth? I think yoga and meditation begin to help us discover what our passions and dreams really are, and they help us find the courage we need to actually pursue our passions, once we identify them.”
Angela speaks several different languages, including English, Spanish and Portuguese. She is excited about reaching out to a diverse population in downtown Pawtucket and being a member of this start-up studio!
Angela will be offering body treatments at Shri Studio soon!
